Stephen Colbert Remembers His Mom

Regular viewers of The Colbert Report will be aware that, up until last night, his show had been on an unannounced hiatus since last week. The reason for that was because of the death of Stephen’s mother at the age of 92 last week. Before he opened the show last night and went into character, Colbert had this to say:

Anyone who has lost a parent, or anyone close to them really, will get this completely. Amazingly, he went on from this to do his show.

    I still can not speak of my mother without losing a tear or 2, and she has been dead 6 years. I don’t know how he did after just 6 days. I guess that is why he is called a Professional.
