500,000

Some time early in the 8:00 hour*, OTB had its 500,000th unique visit as calculated by Site Meter since I installed the counter on February 4, 2003.

I was on pace to hit that milestone by the end of the month; the recent trafffic surge accelerated it. Indeed, it’s not inconceivable that I’ll hit 600,000 before the day is out.

*SiteMeter crashed and continues to have a several hour lag in reporting. For some reason, the “Total” figure is stuck on 497,050 even though the hourly figures have showed 50,000 plus hits since that point. I hope it’ll clear up. SiteMeter isn’t very accurate but it’s at least handy as a cumulative and comparative baseline.
