CHRIS MATTHEWS
PoliBlogger links this piece on Chris Matthews’ Sunday morning show, which is much less annoying than his MSNBC show. In addition to Steven’s points, I’d add that whoever says this doesn’t understand television:
The networks interview newsmakers, not journalists, while Matthews benefits from “Meet the Press”‘ huge lead-ins, they say.
The Sunday morning shows, like most of the non-prime time schedule, are controlled by the local affiliates. Indeed, on the DC affiliate, Matthews’ show is aired directly before MTP. The Sunday talk shows are aired at wildly differing times across the country, sometimes competiting head-to-head, sometimes not.
He’s on the ABC affiliate in Montgomery, for that matter. It is a syndicated show, and not linked to a net.
