    I was going to ask, “Do you see that in Alabama?” but then I read the caption.

    Did you stop in at the Hotel Del? It’s very picturesque itself. The primary shooting location for a film I adore called “The Stunt Man”, I made sure to visit it on at least on San Diego trip.

    Of course, waterfowl are good too.

    It looks to be starting a takeoff run.

    Most birds just up and fly, but some larger ones need added air speed. They run and flap their wings before they can fly, essentially a takeoff run.

  6. @Jay L Gischer: Actually, it is something one could see on the AL coast.

    And yes, this was right by the hotel. A lovely place! I have been to San Diego many times, mostly many years ago, but this was my first time on the island.
