ah … horses, sometimes inscrutable
Steven, did you see the (2007?) movie “Michael Clayton” with George Clooney, Tilda Swinton, Tom Wilkinson?
There was a memorable scene with 3 horses, where Clooney stops his car to ascend a hill to see the horses and while he’s up there his car explodes, leaving him and the viewer with the idea that the horses saved his life … the movie is a lawyer/murder mystery. … I keep coming back to that scene.

I have never seen “Michael Clayton” but I will file that away for future reference.
Just to be clear, those are donkeys, right? Not the same as horses, although one can mate them to create a mule, of course.
