Cory Booker Has Massive Lead With One Month To Go

With just over a month until the Special Election to fill the seat once held by Frank Lautenberg, Cory Booker has a clearly insurmountable lead in the polls:

With a month to go in New Jersey’s Senate special election, Newark Mayor Cory Booker has pulled out to a 35-point lead, according to a Rutgers-Eagleton Poll released Wednesday.

Booker took 64 percent, with 29 percent supporting Republican Steve Lonegan and 6 percent undecided. The special to replace the late Sen. Frank R. Lautenberg, D-N.J., will be held Oct. 16.

Lonegan is hoping for a boost on Friday when Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., will endorse him at an afternoon rally in Clark, N.J. But the state’s political dynamics and Booker’s personal popularity makes a Republican win here difficult.

“Booker appears to be building an insurmountable lead,” Rutgers-Eagleton Poll director David Redlawsk said.

To say the least.

Doug, sometimes you write the funniest stuff.

  2. That’s a quote from the article, not me

  3. @edmondo: That’s the same Rand Paul that called Christie a “King of Bacon”, right?

Gov Christie is a jink and disaster for NJ. Karma comes in many forms. NJ needs politicians like Booker who care about people and not the rich and Wall Street. Vote out Gov Christie in the next election if not more disasters await NJ…just look at the results under Christie..Nature sends us messages in many forms. Vote the Dems in.

Gov Christie has not been good for NJ in so many ways. he should not be re-elected yet it seems like the dismal DNC has all but given up the seat to Christie and GOP.
