Democratic Candidate For Texas Governor Avoids Obama During Texas Visit

This should be a pretty good indication of just how much Bill White thinks the President can help him in his race against Rick Perry:

GRAND PRAIRIE — Bill White is standing by his decision not to appear with President Obama during a visit to Texas on Monday, but his Republican opponent will.

The Democratic gubernatorial nominee attended a healthy family fair in Grand Prairie on Saturday. When asked about not appearing with Obama, White said he isn’t ignoring the president, but rather upholding prior commitments.

“I’m accessible to president at all times, talked to the president before, and Bush before him. [I’m] not so much on photo ops, but I keep to my schedule,” White said. “I’m not going to travel from one place to another; what I’m doing is meeting the people of Texas.”

While the President is in Austin, White is out campaigning in far Western Texas, about as far away as you can get from Austin without being in New Mexico.

What does that tell you ?
