G-Mail Weirdness

Is anyone else having trouble logging into Gmail using Firefox?  For the past hour or so, every time I try, I get “redirecting” in the top window, a long wait, and an error message telling me the URL is too long (The requested URL /accounts/ServiceLogin… is too large to process.)   Oddly, no issues in IE other than the fact I don’t like IE.

It would seem they took this out of Beta a wee bit too soon.

I have not had any trouble with Gmail using FF 3.0.11. The last couple weeks, I have had no end of trouble with FF 3.5, so I rolled back.

  2. Michael says:

Works fine for me, using Firefox 3.0.11 on Ubuntu, and Firefox 3.5.1 on Windows XP.

Though I usually don’t use Gmail’s web interface, preferring an actual desktop email client.

Rick: Yeah, I’m on 3.5. I have had some minor annoyances since switching.

Have you tried the usual cure of deleting your google cookies?

If it’s working with IE, then the problem is with Firefox–not Gmail.

If your service isn’t working with all mainstream browsers and operating systems, it’s not working.
