Site Status

My apologies to those who’ve been trying unsuccessfully all day to access the site. My hosting company turned routine hardware maintenance into an adventure which required complete restoration of the site from their own managed backup. This resulted in not only eight hours of downtime but the complete loss of all posts and comments from yesterday.

UPDATE: Working now to restore the old posts, which are still residing in my RSS feed. I’ll do my best; thankfully, it’s just a handful.

UPDATE: Done. Obviously, comments and trackbacks from the intervening period (roughly 3 a.m. Eastern Saturday through 3 p.m. Sunday) are history.

Sorry to see your problems, James. Glad you’re back, though.

  2. I suspect you were thrilled to hear all of that.

    Thanks, Bit.

And, yeah, I was totally pumped to find out that they’d managed to screw the pooch on both the backup and the hardware install.

Isn’t there a DB Backup available in WordPress?
