WAR…WITH THE COMFORTS OF HOME: Rick Atkinson, himself a West Point grad and Vietnam vet, has an interesting feature article in today’s WaPo on the 101st Airborne’s preparation for deployment to Iraq. Things are certainly more comfortable than when I went over in 1990. Good. While it’s awfully expensive to provide this level of amenities to that many soldiers, there are few things more tedious than sitting around waiting for war. Hell, I’m getting tired of it myself, and I’m just reading about it.
