    James,

    It seems to me that the more sophisticated lefty blogs are trying to pull a reverse on 2000 by attempting to spread a “Bush is a great debater” meme, thereby RAISING expectations for his performance.

    I think it’s pretty clever, actually.

    Personally, I think Bush tends to be pretty awful in staged events like debates and pretty good in more informal settings.
