I disagree. In this day and age few cars can be worked on by the amateur mechanic. She’d be much better off taking it in to a reliable shop.
True. I, for one, wouldn’t know where to begin checking my fuel line for debris.
I dunno…it seems her husband was regularly flushing his lines.
Of course, in this age of cell phones, she would have called him to come pick her up and might have remained blissfully unaware.

I was wondering how one would check their fuel line pressure in today’s cars without actually disconnecting something..
