Presidential Venn Diagram

Donald Trump is in a category by himself.

This is making the rounds on Twitter this morning:

There are some quibbles (I’m not sure whether it’s far to call Andrew Johnson and Gerald Ford one-termers in that they were never elected in the first place and Grover Cleveland served two non-consecutive terms, having been ousted after winning the popular vote) but it’s interesting and amusing.

Trump would be unique without the blue circle, just the red and green suffice to make him unique.

I was watching the documentary centered on WH photographer Pete Souza last night and it included footage of Ronald Reagan’s funeral. All past Presidents still alive were there and the images showed a respect and congeniality between the members of this bipartisan, yet very exclusive club. I found myself imagining this picture with Trump in it and, to be honest, I just couldn’t wrap my head around it.

@Scott F.: If Carter has been the best ex-president ever, I expect Trump is about to be the worst.

There are some other quibbles. It places Rutherford B. Hayes outside the one-term circle, even though he in fact only served one term. Now, it’s true he never ran for a second term, but then neither did Andrew Johnson, who is included in the one-term circle.

    But it’s still pretty amusing.

Ben Wittes made this just a bit better by captioning it “Presidential Circles of Suck.”

The Trump trifecta. I bet it wasn’t a very big payday for those that called it though, the odds had to of been far less than 50/50. Maybe a wooden nickel for every 1000$ wagered.
I just wonder if he will brag about being the only president in history to achieve this feat.

To be sure, he lost the popular vote twice. The EC is a mess-Biden will win by 5 million votes, maybe more (California takes its time) and a change of 50,000 votes in three states would have altered the outcome.
