Robert Gibbs Leaving The White House

The staff shakeup that James Joyner wrote about earlier this morning is apparently beginning with the departure of Press Secretary Robert Gibbs:

White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs has just told staffers he is moving on.

By moving on, I’m assuming this means that Gibbs is eventually headed back to Chicago to help David Axelrod with the re-elect.

Frankly, I’ve been wondering when the White House was going to shake up the communications staff because that’s been one of their weakest links.
