Perry For President? Again?
Rick Perry isn’t ruling out running for President again:
PLANO (CBSDFW.COM) – During a one-on-one interview Wednesday following a speech at a Plano Chamber of Commerce luncheon, Gov. Rick Perry said he was leaning toward running for president again in 2016.
“2016 is way down the road, but I’ll assure you one thing, if I decide to run for the presidency in 2016, I’ll be way in before the summer of 2016; 2015, even,” Perry said.
Perry said he loves America and he would “give it a good examination” as long as he stays in good health and his family remains supportive. He said he doesn’t have to make the decision yet.
There’s also been speculation that Perry wants to run for governor again in 2014.
“I’m certainly going to give that the appropriate consideration,” said Perry, Texas’s longest serving governor. “My instincts are very positive towards it right now, but we’ll wait until after the legislative session to make that announcement.”
My advice? Stay in Austin, Governor. You’ll be better off, and so will we.
He’ll be running even before the summer of 2016? Thank you Captain Obvious!
Absolutely not! He causes much less trouble for us Texans when he’s on the national campaign trail. If we can’t recall him, we can at least keep him out of the state.
I hope he runs in 2016, it’s good entertainment value.
He’d benefit from lowered expectations. Part of the reason his flameout was so spectacular is everyone expected a lot more from him.
@Gromitt Gunn: That’s not fair to the other 49 states.
