Whole Foods Conquers London

Adriana Lukas covers the Whole Foods invasion of London. The fact that the prices at what wags here have dubbed “Whole Paycheck” are quite “comparable” to local supermarkets is a bit scary.

    well the shops he’s comparing them to (waitrose & M&S) aren’t supermarkets in the normal sense. They’ve traditionally gone for higher prices & higher quality in an attempt to get the middle class spend in the organic food/quality ingredients market. So waitrose has 4% of the british food market but 16% of the organic food market.

    In short Wholefood prices are comparable to their direct competitors and much more expensive than the normal supermarkets.
