WISCONSIN OR BUST
Democrat Howard Dean said on Thursday his once high-flying U.S. presidential bid would be over if he did not win the Wisconsin primary on Feb. 17, declaring “the entire race has come down to this.”
“We must win Wisconsin,” the former Vermont governor said in a memo to supporters. “A win there will carry us to the big states on March 2 — and narrow the field to two candidates. Anything else will put us out of the race.”
I’m not sure why it is he’d be the obvious alternative to Kerry even if he won Wisconsin. Edwards won South Carolina and Clark, Oklahoma. Indeed, I don’t see how Dean could win even if he takes Wisconsin. He’s lost too much momentum [Ho-mentum?-ed.] already.
I think you’re looking for “psychomentum.”
“And we’re gonna go to Wisconsin, and … um, … and Wisconsin … and, uh … Nyaaaarrrrrhhhh!“
