Quentin Tarantino May Direct Next Friday the 13th Movie

Tarantino May be at Helm of Next Friday the 13th Slasher Film

According to reports, Quentin Tarantino is pondering the thought of writing and directing the latest “Friday the 13th” horror flick. Tarantino, best known for making the hit films “Pulp Fiction” and the “Kill Bill” series, is said to be interested in the project due to the classic nature of the hockey-masked villain, Jason Voorhees. A story by wire service Reuters says that Tarantino was already talking with New Line Cinema, makers of the cult horror series, about a new film.

The first “Friday the 13th†film was released in 1980, and it spawned several sequels, including the most recent 2003 movie “Freddy vs. Jason,†which matched Nightmare on Elm Street’s Freddy Krueger against Voorhees.

I haven’t cared about the “Friday the 13th” franchise in years and I’m not sure even Tarantino could change that. Still, an interesting development.
