George Allen Announces Candidacy For Virginia Senate Seat

As suspected last week, George Allen has made it official and announced that he’s running for the seat he lost to Jim Webb five years ago by a mere 9,329 votes:

At the moment, Allen is far ahead in the few polls of the GOP field that have been taken, largely due to name recognition no doubt. However, while there seems to be little doubt that he is the likely nominee, he’ll have to fend off challenges from Richmond Tea Party activist Jamie Radtke, Delegate Bob Marshall of Prince William County, and possibly one or two other candidates.
