MOPP TIME

MOPP TIME: WaPo reports: US, UK Military Don Chem/Bio Suits in Kuwait Hotel . My guess is too much is being made of this. It is standard procedure to don Mission Oriented Protective Posture equipment when battle with a known chemical possessor starts. We did it in 1991. We wore those suits, minus mask, gloves, and boots, the entirety of the conflict. (Which rendered them virtually useless, as suits from that era had a limited shelf life once opened.) We also donned the protective masks on numerous occasions because of false positives from our M-8 detector alarms. My understanding is that the suits, masks, and detectors are much better now.
