    Then why on earth are we involved in a foreign adventure that is basically organized so Sarkozy could fend off Le Pen in the upcoming elections over uncontrolled muslim immigration?

    And by civilians, do you mean people not engaged in the rebellion or does it include the rebels? Pick up a gun and you are no longer a civilian in a conflict like this.

    Fending off LePen is an objective good. If that is one of the benefits of this effort, then all of Western civilization will benefit.
